Meet Alma Hollingshead

With an extensive background in crop science, Alma Hollingshead knows that the soil in our region is some of the best in the world. “Almost anything can grow here,” she says. Since 1994, Alma has devoted most of her waking hours to growing exceptional grapes, while husband Harvey has turned a passion for winemaking into a passion for making award-winning wines. It’s hard work but very rewarding. Alma loves the Essex region— for the diversity of people who live and visit here, for the waterfront and the green spaces, and for the abundance of wildlife.
