Sip and savour with the Muscedere family. Located further inland than other wineries in Essex, Muscedere is also one of the smallest with 14 acres of planted vines. Commitment to quality means that they harvest the grapes by hand and produce small batches of exceptional wines. From May through October, sink your teeth into a thin-crust wood-fired pizza while sipping a glass of award-winning 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. On bright sunny days, dive into a lively conversation with the Muscedere family while relaxing on the patio or staying cool in the shade of the gazebo. And don’t forget to visit the goats. They’re family too!

Meet Melissa Muscedere

What started as a casual conversation between brothers Fabio and Rob slowly turned into a business proposition and the start of the Muscedere family owned and operated winery. Built on land the family purchased in 1986, the project started to take shape in 2000. By 2003, they were ready to plant their first vines. “It was a process,” says Melissa Muscedere, assistant winemaker. Consultants, classes and hands-on experience were the keys to learning about quality wine-making and how to create a unique tasting experience. Today, Melissa says she loves being part of the vibrant wine region in Essex.
